The RNC ripped Obama for flying to NYC for date night on Saturday. Keep in mind that this isn’t just a couple going out to dinner and a show. It costs tens of thousands of dollars to plan and execute a Presidential trip. Costs include security details, travel, administrative support for advance and coordination, etc. And, at a time when families are cutting back, we have a President that is subsidizing his date night with taxpayer funds.
The RNC hit on a really great message here since Obama is largely viewed by Americans as being “on their side” (62%% – Democracy Corps Survey; April 22-26, 2009).
